Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare is widely spread all over the Rajasthan state having its administrative and health services office at various levels State HQ at Jaipur, Joint Director (Zone) offices (7), District CM&HO offices (34), Block CMO offices (249), CHCs (568), PHCs (2088) and SHC (13227).
Various MIS projects are functional in the different sections of department. The technical services are supported by the NIC (National Informatics Centre - Rajasthan) for the design and maintenance of the online softwares. RISL (RajCOMP Info Services Limited) is providing technical support in the implementation of "Arogya Online Project" at the 15 Districts Hospitals (9 under RHSDP and 6 under NRHM).
Why computerized Health Management Information System (HMIS)?
Establishment of HMIS provides reliable and cost effective mechanism for better monitoring, management, planning and decision making for effective health service delivery.

Pregnancy, Child Tracking and Health Services Management System (PCTS):- The website was launched by Hon’ble, Union Health Minister in the presence of Hon’ble, Chief Minister, Government of Rajasthan on 15th September, 2009 at Jaipur.
The website address of the system is http://pctsrajmedical.raj.nic.in. The system is designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre – Rajasthan. It helps in the online tracking of pregnant women & children and monitoring of the health services provided to the beneficiaries, it is also referred as PCTS (Pregnancy, Child Tracking and Health Services Management System). Nearly 13000 units are reporting the data on the system on regular monthly basis.
Nodal Officer for PCTS is Additional Charge of State Demographer. Rajasthan Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojna (RJSSY):- The website was launched by Hon’ble Union State Health Minister on 11th April, 2012 (i.e. Safe Motherhood Day) at Jaipur.
The website address of the system is http://rjssy.raj.nic.in. The system is designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre – Rajasthan. It helps in the online monitoring of the services delivered to the beneficiaries under the RJSSY. The system provides drill-down facility to identify the expenditure done on an individual pregnant woman or infant (up to 30 days) under various heads such as registration, institutional delivery, c-section, transportation, blood facility, hot food, medicines & consumables etc. The system would help in ensuring the effective delivery of health services under the RJSSY. Nearly 1700 units are reporting the data on the system on regular basis.

Arogya Online Project:- Government of Rajasthan has taken the initiative to automate the Hospitals in the state to improve the patient care. e-Health or ‘Arogya Online’ is the electronic management of health information to deliver safer, more efficient, better quality healthcare to the citizens of the state. This landmark initiative is facilitating the transition of paper-based clinical record keeping to electronic means for better information exchange. e-Health is a buzz word comprising innovative methods and tools for more dynamic health systems, new technologies that aim to improve disease prevention, facilitate patient safety and quality, provide more efficient disease diagnosis and treatment, and increase health system coordination and use of resources. e-Health has the potential to help to create a safer, more efficient and more equitable health sector. ‘Arogya Online’ is designed to provide the highest level of flexibility and operational efficiency for a hospital. The system performs complex tasks like investigation billing, bed management, admission discharge and transfer procedures, pharmacy management and various other related activities.
The successful SMS Hospital Model is to be replicated at the 15 District Hospitals by Department of Medical, Health & Family Welfare as per announcement made by Hon’ble Chief Minister in his Budget Speech 2010-11. In this regard, a tripartite MOU was signed between Medical & Health Department, RajCOMP and C-DAC at Swasthya Bhawan on 24th June 2010.
